I'm an Awful Person!

Am I such a horrible person, in that I am not in the slightest, interested in pregnancy pictures. Honestly, I don't really see the beauty in seeing someone's humongous bare belly, whether or not there is life brewing inside. Perhaps I only feel this way because I have yet to become pregnant or maybe I'm just really insensitive. But I DON'T CARE about you and your expanding uterus, sure I'm excited that you'll have a beautiful baby soon, but right now, it just looks gross, stop posting pictures of it everywhere.

Ok, bring on the haters, but that's just my 2 cents.

Anyway, I will probably be going on a hiatus for about a week during Chinese New Year since I'm not sure I'll have time to get on a computer during the holiday. Apparently, there are a lot of family time obligations... it's like Asian Christmas! But anyway, I'll take this time out to say thanks to everyone who reads my blog, I know sometime it can be way shallow (like all the time) but I enjoy writing it and if you like, you should become a follower or tell other people! Let's spread the love :).

Ok peace out lovers.

Totally depends. Pregnancy treats some women really well, actually accentuating their sexiness, while others it just doesnt..at all..

Yeahhh, I don't think I've ever seen a girl who became sexier after getting a preggo belly.

You're right, and I'd even take it a step further and say that it makes it grotesque that there is "life brewing inside." The only constant in life is pain and the sensation of pain, and the genetic disposition to breed as much as possible so there will be more of it.

wow that sounds extremely depressing, how is that the only constant in life is pain and the sensation of pain?

Our whole nervous system is rigged up against pain. Even something that isn't actually very harmful can cause immense pain. You've been in that situation, you know slamming your finger in a door brings you into your own lonely universe. No matter how many times others assure you that they went through the same pain, you know yourself that the pain you're experiencing is the only truth. You're in a different world that they can't even begin to grasp. Pain is vastly important to people, you can delve into it in human psychology. And it's the same with all animals, it's a Darwinian afterthought. Humans, dogs, cats, whatever, will change their whole personality, outlook, stimulus response, in order to avoid pain. Just look at the animal kingdom we accept as 'Just The Way It Is'. It's either constant pain (in the form of hunger, disease, bad teeth, other competitors, parasites, predators etc) or a year of peak power for the lucky few at the top (who also have to avoid pain like the plague). And it all ends in broken limbs and some sort of scavenger finishing you off. Humans used to live like this; now it's just in varying degrees based on where you were arbitrarily born.

I know it's a horribly depressing outlook, but just read Schopenhauer. What kind of world is it where millions of box jellyfish, which love to swarm in muddy waters that make them nearly invisible to humans, bring one of the most horribly painful deaths imaginable. Same with the poor fisherman that accidentally steps on the lurking Estuarine Stonefish with its ugly, hypodermic needles filled with poison. Here's a google cache of a very good article on it, since the website is presently down: http://74.125.113.132/search?q=cache:XCZvEQ9anHwJ:www.exile.ru/articles/detail.php%3FARTICLE_ID%3D6843%26IBLOCK_ID%3D35%26phrase_id%3D9813+schopenhauer+award
Just look at any article on the 'most dangerous/poisonous animals on Earth' and you'll get a clear outline.

The only excuse would be karma, and don't tell me it's because of karma that people all over the world (especially the unfortunate, chronically poor) are living horrible hellish lives. Does that mean that whenever a malnourished child lives a good life he would come back as cow to be slaughtered? Or perhaps a businessman that exploits others. Or maybe just not come back at all and enter nirvana, so they don't have to feel the ugly pain that is omnipresent and has the gravity of scientific law in the world.

Btw, I stumbled on a great viewpoint on pain by H.G. Wells while I was (finally) finishing The Island of Dr. Moreau, if you ever wanted to check it out. You can find it within the chapter Doctor Moreau Explains.

Anyway, thanks for reading my blog!
